This 10.5-acre bayfront park at 1600 W Balboa Blvd has a nautical-themed playground with a two-story slide, a small calm-water bay beach, a cafe and a sailing center that rents water equipment. Preschool storytime runs here on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. while the Balboa Branch Library is being rebuilt. It's also the biggest viewing spot for the December boat parade.
