The city contracts six surf schools to teach on its 3.5 miles of city beach, each assigned to a set of lifeguard towers. They are Little Surf Co., Wavehuggers, McKinnon Surf Lessons (which offers adaptive lessons), Orange County Surf Coaching, Serene Waters and Clint Carroll Surf School. You book and pay directly on each school's website, since the city does not take registrations.
