I am not a surfer, but my son is. We paid him a visit on the west coast, and decided to stop in here when we were exploring. Pleasant surprise!! Amazing exhibits, informative staff, and cool gift shop! Loved it. If you're a surfer, and even if you're not, it's well worth the visit to check out some of the memorabilia and cool stories behind them.

Small but packed with boards — a real treasure for surf lovers. Highlights include the famous board bitten by the shark that belonged to Bethany Hamilton, which is incredible to see up close. The staff were super friendly and shared lots of local stories along with great details about the exhibits. Definitely worth a visit!

A small museum with one large room but so much stuff to look at. You learn how surfing was almost forgotten with the deaths of 90% of the Hawaiians after the arrival of the Europeans. How it spreads then through out the world. Lots of examples how surf boards changed through the years.

Fun, small museum! If you're in the area it is well worth a visit (even if you don't surf).

A fantastic museum! A must see for any surfers who want to understand their history and interesting for non surfers alike. I was blown away by the exhibit about Princess Ka’iulani, the mother of surfing. Such an inspiring person and I was so proud to learn she surfed in my home town of Brighton, England way back in 1892!! A wonderful little museum with friendly staff and a great shop too (treasure my beach towel). A must see if you are in Oceanside.
