Rescued animals, each with the story of how it arrived, which reviewers say holds kids of most ages. Small-group and private tours run by reservation, including after the main closing time, and reviewers rate the guides highly. There is an admission fee. Porcupines are the crowd favourite.

A small, friendly rescue zoo set in an old olive grove in Sylmar, home to more than 100 rescued and zoo-born animals across roughly 50 species — nearly all former exotic pets or wildlife unable to survive on their own. The guided Zoofari tour lets families feed a giraffe, touch an armadillo, or hand-feed a porcupine along easy, stroller-friendly paths.

Very fun and educational for the kids. We made reservation to do the adventure tour because I really wanted to see the porcupine and armadillo. The guide was very nice and the tour was fun. Porcupine were definitely the highlight of the visit!

We visited for a birthday party and this place was great! The animals were amazing and each one had a story about where they were found and how they were rescued and ended up at the Wildlife Learning Center. I would highly recommend going, great experience with the kids!
