AI summary of 5 Google reviews — not a first-hand visit. How we write these
Reviewers describe a bouldering spot with big sandstone formations. The main trail starts wide, then narrows among the boulders. Climbers turn out in numbers at weekends. Reviewers stress going early in warm weather, and being properly equipped and careful if anyone in the group is climbing.
A dramatic cluster of sandstone boulders where legendary climbers learned the ropes — older kids love scrambling the rocks for big San Fernando Valley views. Climbers have been coming here since the 1930s, and by the 1950s the park was a training ground for future legends like Royal Robbins and Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard. Today the sandstone — formed roughly 68 million years ago — holds more than 150 mapped routes, though the soft rock means added caution is needed after rain.

This is an excellent place to practice rock climbing with safety and pads! I was able to walk on the trail with fall safety gear on and feel safe. I’ve seen others walk to more complicated trails and have a great time. Please be safe and wise!

This place has grown on me. I think it’s a great little escape form a huge busy city! My friends in Santa Monica/ Venice love to boulder and rock climb here. Slant rock is a he eat warm up/ meetup spot, and Boulder 1 is a great chance to work in headgame. Come early if it’s hot (which is now March apparently)
