Fossil Reef Park

Laguna Hills, CA

Free

A 1-acre county prehistoric site dedicated in 1982. The city says it preserves the only remaining exposed part of a 17-million-year-old fossil reef in Orange County, full of scallop, clam and snail fossils. It is on Via Lomas next to Laguna Hills High, and it is a quick science stop for school-age kids, not a playground.
