  Fred Hesse Jr. Community Park is an amazing park! The upper area has a baseball field and a large grassy area, along with a paved sidewalk that’s perfect for walking loops. Down below, the park is terraced into three different play areas. The first has a small playground that’s great for younger children. The second has a fun rope-climbing structure, and the bottom area has a larger playground with swings, spinning equipment, and plenty to explore. There are also tons of picnic tables throughout the park, making it a great place to spend a few hours or even bring lunch. It’s especially nice for families with kids of different ages since there’s something for everyone. There’s also plenty of space to walk the dog and enjoy the outdoors. Definitely a great family-friendly park!

  I recently visited Fred Hesse Jr. Community Park and McTaggart Hall Community Center for the 2026 Universe Multicultural Film Festival, where I had the honor of serving as a Jury Member and panelist for the “Producing Global Films” discussion. The venue is beautiful, well-maintained, and located in a peaceful setting in Rancho Palos Verdes. The facilities were excellent for hosting cultural and community events, and the atmosphere was welcoming and professional. The spacious meeting rooms, convenient parking, and scenic surroundings made it an ideal location for filmmakers, artists, and audiences to come together. I especially enjoyed meeting talented filmmakers and creators from diverse backgrounds while celebrating global storytelling through film. The event was organized wonderfully, and the venue provided a comfortable environment for both panels and networking. I highly recommend Fred Hesse Jr. Community Park and McTaggart Hall Community Center for community gatherings, cultural events, film festivals, and educational programs.
