Big regional park around Puddingstone Lake with picnic spots, boating, fishing, trails, and adjacent Raging Waters. The 250-acre reservoir was originally built between 1925 and 1928 purely for flood control, and only became a dedicated recreation area in 1953 once the county worked out a deal to keep water levels steady for boating and fishing. The park takes its name from Supervisor Frank Bonelli, who championed handing the site over to the county parks department in 1959.

Beautiful things can exist in a neighborhood, and the ones living near it never enjoy it. Have you seen a lake view of Mt. Baldy? This is a Regional Park. Yet it has parts (water ways etc.) owned by the State due to it surrounding the Puddingstone Dam/Lake (reservoir). It's huge (250 acres could mean, it may take multiple visits to try and see everything). Nature abounds, and the views on any given day are varied beautiful. It is well maintained. It is family friendly, great for walking, or just relaxing taking on the sights. It offers numerous places with covering (gazebos) for shaded gatherings. On weekends, there is a swim park, boat rentals etc. You can fish on the lake. There is an RV area. You can launch your boat, kayak etc. from the designated piers. There are a variety of styles of playgrounds for children. Look at pictures when you search Bonneli Park. It's dog friendly and there are lovely trails to walk etc. There are public restrooms and many parking areas. Be natured prepared (have what you need) for mosquitoes and possible native wildlife (coyotes etc.)There are seasonal pass offerings with special pricing for Seniors that eliminate the parking per visit entry fee. It also provides additional perks at other state parks. Go visit...it is a beautiful park and the perfect place for a picnic or birthday celebration.

This park is a beautiful and spacious gem tucked in against the mountains. Clean, well maintained, and plenty of bathrooms. Lots of awesome paved, and unpaved, paths let you explore the park and discover all the pretty views. There is enough room for big groups to have fun, loads of big & unique playgrounds, but still plenty of quiet and secluded areas to enjoy nature. Highly recommend visiting here.
