The memorial in Sid Goldstein Freedom Park honors those who served and died in the Vietnam War and the refugee community that resettled here afterward. The park next to the Civic Center and Rose Center also has an accessible children's play area, picnic tables and restrooms. The city holds an American Vietnam War Veterans Day ceremony in late March and a Black April remembrance on April 30, when the South Vietnamese flag flies at half-staff (April 23-30).
