  If you dive, and you haven’t been to casino point in Avalon, you are missing out- this is one of the easiest beach dive entries you will EVER do! Take any boat from the mainland to Avalon- then drop your gear at Avalon Blue line luggage (at the boat terminal (called “the mole”). They will DELIVER your gear to casino pint and back for you (reasonable fee applies of course). A 15-20 minute flat walk to the point (or take a cab or shuttle) and you are there. Catalina Divers supply is literally located at the casino building and has everything you need. A short set of steps into the water and you are diving. The park is a protected area and loaded with stuff to see- visibility averages 35-50’.

  If you wanted to see what a kelp forest dive was like, this is the place. Catalina is an easy and beautiful dive that will leave you speechless every time. Mira a 60 minute ferry ride from Long Beach or Dana point to Avalon and once you are there, you can stroll on a light mile walk to the park and meet your dive center of choice by the park to get your briefing, gear and guided dive. Because of the location, the dives are usually great viz and no complaints on the surge or current department so it’s great for all Levels. Book your diving and arrangements ahead of time and doesn’t forget to tip your dive professionals!
