A small 0.45-acre tot lot at 5840 Gardendale St with a playground and a patch of grass, sized for toddlers and preschoolers in the Hollydale neighborhood.
FreeSaturday Steppers Walking Club
A free, city-run morning walk that welcomes all ages, including strollers and kids. It moves between parks: Circle Park in November, Hollydale Community Park in December and Hollydale Regional Park in January. Check the city events listing for the next date.

A city-run 9-hole par-3 course at 9615 Pinehurst Ave inside South Gate Park, with a driving range, putting green and snack bar. Clubs can be rented, so it's an easy, low-cost first round for kids. No alcohol is allowed.

South Gate's main LA County Library branch at 4035 Tweedy Blvd, a 19,000+ sq ft building in the Tweedy Mile shopping district. Smarty Pants Storytime has been on Wednesdays at 12:30pm, plus Baby Band and MākMō maker sessions (check the county calendar).

Children's Christmas Lane Parade & Holiday Festival
A long-running parade (the 2025 edition was the 76th) along Tweedy Blvd from California Ave to Pinehurst Ave, followed by a holiday festival at South Gate Park. It's hosted by the South Gate Chamber of Commerce with the city. The 2026 date wasn't posted yet, so check closer to December.
