Alberhill Ranch Community Park
A 22-acre north-end park off Lake Street with a playground, lit fields and basketball. It's also home to the Alberhill Ranch Boys & Girls Clubhouse.
FreeCanyon Hills Community Park & Splash Pad
An 18-acre park with the city's first splash pad, two playgrounds with specialized play equipment, ball fields and a dog area. It's the go-to cool-off spot on the east side of town.
FreeCity Park (Downtown)
A historic, heavily shaded park just west of Main Street, with a playground, a gazebo, horseshoe pits and a concession stand serving Mexican and American food. Pair it with a Main Street stroll or the Historical Society museum.
FreeLake Elsinore Riverwalk
A paved, lit 2.75-mile walking path along Temescal Wash from the lake shoreline toward Riverside Drive, with benches and birdwatching. It's flat and stroller-friendly.
FreeLake Elsinore Summer Public Swim (Lakeside HS)
The city runs summer public swim and Red Cross-style swim lessons at the Lakeside High School pool. Residents can register for lessons in person at the Dream Extreme center two days before non-residents, who must register online.

A lakeside park on Lakeshore Drive with a tot lot, a 0.36-mile walking path, shaded picnic areas and views across the lake to the Ortega mountains. It's next to the Senior Activity Center and close to Elm Grove Beach.
FreeMcVicker Canyon Park
A 26-acre west-side park off Grand Avenue with a skate park, tot lot, ball fields, a dog area and shaded seating. It's handy for Lakeland Village-area families.
FreeRosetta Canyon Sports Park
A 21-acre sports park with a playground, jogging paths and a two-story concession stand with a 360-degree observation deck that kids like to climb. It also has separate small- and large-dog areas.
FreeSerenity Park (Skate Zone & Pump Track)
A south-end park with a skate zone, a multi-use pump track, a quarter-mile fitness trail, a playground and a dog park. Pump track rules are posted on the city's skate parks page. Pads and helmet are required.
FreeSummerly Community Park & Skate Park
Just past Diamond Stadium, with a 10,000-square-foot skate park, a shaded children's playground, lit ball fields and a dog park. Safety gear (helmet, knee and elbow pads) is required by city code at all city skate parks.
FreeWalker Canyon (spring poppies)
The hillside off I-15 at Lake Street became famous for its superbloom poppies. During the 2019 surge the city briefly shut access after traffic, habitat damage and injuries, and in March 2024 the city and the Regional Conservation Authority closed the canyon outright. Check the City of Lake Elsinore and RCA before going each spring. Stay on trails, never pick or trample the flowers, and expect no restrooms.
FreeYarborough Park (treehouse playground & splash pad)
A quiet three-acre neighborhood park with a treehouse-themed playground, a splash pad and natural shade. League play isn't allowed, so it stays relaxed and is popular for kids' birthday picnics.

Elm Grove Beach
The city's main public swim beach on Lakeshore Drive, a sandy shore with picnic areas downtown. The lake has a history of summer algae blooms: the city's Lake Watch page said there was no advisory as of August 25, 2026, and it tests monthly or bi-weekly. Check that page before kids swim, and rinse off after water play.
FreeLaunch Pointe Recreation Destination
The city-owned lake access point with the main boat launch ramps, boat and watercraft rentals, an RV resort and a campground on the north shore. It's the easiest place to rent paddleboards or a boat for a family lake day. Check Lake Watch for algae status first.

A small local-history museum and research library in the Cultural Center on Main Street (entrance on West Heald). Hours are irregular, so call before making a trip.
